Social and Cultural Life

Texans had to find most of their amusement in daily activities. Some of the most popular forms of entertainment were dancing, horse racing, hunting, and fishing. Certain Fiesta activities, like games, dances, and foods were brought from Mexico and enjoyed by the Texans. Religious celebrations brought people together, as did political elections. A hand full of theatre groups reformed in towns, and newspapers were good for entertainment and information.
