How does blood and blood vessels work?
- blood is liquid tissue
- contains plasma, red and white blood cells
- red blood cells take up about 40% of your blood, transports oxygen our body needs throughout our body
- white blood cells take up about 4% of your blood, fight off any germs that enter the body
- platelets are small cell fragments, help body fix cut after get hurt, clump or stick together
- blood is transported through arteries, veins, and capillaries
- walls have 3 layers
- capillaries stick to veins and arteries
- pass through walls of capillaries (oxygen and carbon dioxide) to be taken or given out
