What does your respiratory system do?
- made up of a series of passage ways that transport the air you breathe
- when you breathe in air enters your body through your mouth
- lungs are organs that fill with air when you inhale
- empty of air when you exhale
- flat sheet of muscle controls breathing
- called diaphragm
- air in drawn into lungs through series of tubes
- tubes are surrounded by capillaries
- is a tiny blood vessel
- take oxygen to rest of cells
- blood takes in oxygen and gives out carbon dioxide
- then exhaled out of body
