Queen Bee = Deborah
- Deborah is Lily's mother just like the queen is a mother to thousands of bees
- Just like a mother is instrumental in our life, in the life of a bee the hive will not function without a queen
- Much like a mom, the queen bee is the glue that holds the hive together

Worker Bee = Rosaleen
- Worker bees perform every chore imaginable except reproduction, just like Rosaleen
- Rosaleen looked after Lily just as the worker bees tend to the queen, young drones and larvae
- When necessary the worker bees defend the colony, and Rosaleen does the same for Lily
