Kerosene VS. Standard

At the same time the company called Kerosene was starting to become of the country's growing economic staple. The company obtained petroleum and used it in lamps.

In the 1870's Rockefeller formed the oil company Standard Oil Company of Ohio, with the assistance of his younger brother, William and a man by the name Henry Flagler. Rockefeller was announced president and the largest shareholder of the company.
