Philanthropist?

Once Rockefeller retired from his operations of business of the Standard Oil around the 1890's, he was influence by the tycoon Andrew Carnegie, who had also made a vast fortune due to his steel company became a philanthropist, giving away a large sum of his money.

Not to be out done, Rockefeller had donated more than half a billion dollars to many scientific, educational and even religious causes. In his retired years he help funded the University of Chicago and also the Rockefeller Institute for a Medical Research, now known as Rockefeller University.
