Extraction

Titanium dioxide is mined in beach sand or strip mined. When it is mined in beach sand, they extract parts of the sand and separate the minerals. Usually, there is a small percentage of titanium dioxide. They separate the titanium dioxide and send the rest of the sand back. In strip mining, the land is first stripped of it's vegetation and top soil. If it is done near water, then a forty to fifty foot deep pond is created and filled with natural water. This separates minerals and dirt. Minerals are sent to be separated and figured out which is which and categorized which is were the titanium dioxide is. A Wet Mill is floated on the pond to separate minerals into gravitational weight ,too. When not in water, in the sand case, or once minerals and dirt are separated in water, Dry Mills separates minerals with conductivity and magnetism. High tension machine separator a are used along with what has been already listed.

Interesting Fact
Titanium dioxide jewelry is known to help people with carpal tunnel syndrome because it stimulates the nerves in the affected part of the body.
