Harmful Study

Though titanium dioxide is amazing, there is a study that it is possibly a carcinogen. A carcinogen is a thing that has the risk of causing cancer. It also can cause lung fibrosis and is pointed out as a photocatalyst. Though there is evidence, it is still an allegation and the evidence is circumstantial. It is even listed as a safe pigment with no known cosmetic side effects. It is also approved by the FDA when it is 99% pure. Though unlikely, it could be as harmful as said above.

Interesting Fact
About 4.6 million tons of pigmentary titanium dioxide are used annually worldwide.
