The Waynes routinely hosted, attended, and enjoyed parties large and small, and elaborate Wayne Christmas parties were an annual affair for many years. Wayne, of course, had other outlets for social fun when he was on land. His iconic status earned him invitations and memberships of all types that he wasn’t shy about using when he could. He was, for instance, a member of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, the Playboy Club, a Knott’s Berry Farm Gold Season Pass Holder, a member of the Colt Commemorative Gun Collector’s Association of America, the Yacht Club of Acapulco, the Royal Order of Jesters, and the Mount Kenya Safari Club-founded by his friend, Actor William Holden-among other organizations.

In many of his adventures over the years, Wayne was frequently joined by his closest friends. Without question, John Wayne loved a good party and a nice drink, something he didn’t try to deny or hide.
