Color

Smooth/Shiny Surface:
In this picture of a kitchen, it is evident that the smooth/shiny counters, appliances, and cabinets are a lighter color. For example, the shiny granite counter is a lighter greyish black than the black chairs. Also, the smooth cabinets are a lighter brown than the rough wood beam above the island.

Rough Surface:
In this picture of a living room, it is filled with rough wood and rock. The rough stone fireplace and wood beams are a darker brown. In conclusion, rough surfaces affects color by making it darker.
