Agriculture: Irrigation System

The irrigation system had been there since the Harappan times from the Indus rivers, and later the Aryans tapped the Ganges. The southern part didn't have rivers to serve as sources for large scale irrigation, so when the population grew and the irrigation system became more important they began to construct waterworks; dams, reservoirs, canals, wells, and tunnels.
