A statement made by a professor, in which he talks about the creation of vaccines and other medical breakthroughs all from one library.
Genomic libraries are used in DNA sequencing projects. They can store DNA that can be used to help identify genes that produce pharmaceutical proteins (such as insulin). They can help scientist find new genes that were silent, or turned off, in the host. It provides assistance to scientists so that they can better understand the complexity of genomes. It provides genes for research and the creation of transgenic animals, animals who have a foreign gene that has been inserted into its genome. It allows for scientists to be able to study genetic mutations in cancer tissue.
