CASE STUDY
Human Genome Project
Genomic libraries were a big part of the Human Genome Project.
~ Libraries allowed for researchers to accumulate and gain information on particular clones without having to be at the same place at the same time. It enabled them to look at the same DNA in their own labs.
~ Some people volunteered their DNA, which was taken and put into libraries.
~ Genomic libraries assisted in the sequencing of DNA in the Human Genome Project.
~ It allowed for genes to be looked at separately, instead of trying to look at and figure everything out all at one time.
Genomic libraries were a resource for the Human Genome Project.
