Description: In this painting there are laborers in a field picking food. There is a river next to where they are working. The grass is red, orange, and yellow (warm colors) because the sun is hitting the ground directly with no interruptions. The further you look away from the sun the cooler the colors become.
Analysis: this piece encore rates line, movement, value, proportion, and unity throughout the painting. It uses line to help guide your eyes to the back of the piece. It uses movement to take your eyes to the people and what they are doing. He also uses proportion to valence the pice and value to show the position of the people relative to the sun in the back of the painting.
Interpitation: I think the artist is trying to say slavery is coming to an end in the future. If you look at the slaves going back to the sun they get fewer and fewer. I believe this is the artists way of saying we won't need slavery in days to come. He shows this with the jagged lines in the grass and th lines of their backs to show they are working in a field .

Judgement: In my opinion I think the painting tells a great story and shows it too. The artist, Van Gogh , uses the color and lines of e painting well to show people the story he is trying to tell. When I saw it for the first time it grabbed my attention right away. I was in awe of the movement of the piece and wanted to find out more about the meaning of the story behind the painting.
