Break up the gangs and more pop up. Arrest the cartel leaders and cartel members retaliate agianst innocent citizens. Hire a new police force and they become corrupted. Does this mean the situation is hopeless? Not exactly Mexico does have a growing economy, a thriving democracy and the world's thirteenth largest economy, so the goal of ridding the country of major drug cartels is more than just a dream.

Whatever the solution may be, Mexico needs to move quickly to avoid becoming the country whose top export is illegal drugs.
