The French and Indian War
This war was fought between Great Britain and the French and the Indians of North America. Britain won the war but paid a large price. They decided the best way to get the money back would be to tax the colonies. They used laws such as the Sugar Act, Stamp Act, and the Townshend Act to gain the money back to pay their debts.
