Blue-Eyed Darner (Aeshna multicolor)

Large dragonfly

Naiad (immature stage)--up to 1 5/8 inches in length

Adult--up to 2 3/4 inches in length

Both male and female have large blue eyes

Body is brown and may be striped with blue or green depending on the gender (blue for male green for female)

Prefers to live in open sunny places at low elevations
