Racism during WWII
The persecution of the Romani people increased during WWII because of the Porjamos, the Nazi genocide of the Romani. At least 1.5 million Romani lost their lives during WWII. According to Nazi ideology, the Romani were at the bottom of the
racial scale, along with Jews. They were stripped of their citizenship in Germany and not allowed to have any relationships with Aryans.
