- Grasshoppers grow up to one and three quarter inches long.
-It has black stripes on its' "thighs".
- It eats many different types of plants including grasses, weeds, crops, clovers, and fruits.
-They do not migrate like other grasshoppers; the female lays about 25 eggs and they hatch the following spring.
-Baby grasshoppers are called nymphs, and they molt.
- After about 6 molts they look like an adult. This takes about 2 months.
-They can fly short distances.
