-The Chinese mantis is a mantis native of China and other parts of Asia.
-The female can produce several ootheca the size of tennis balls that can contain 400 eggs.
-In 1896 the species was accidentally introduced near Philadelphia.
-They primarily feed on insects, though the adult females in particular sometimes catch small vertebrates.
-The female will normally bite off the male's head after mating.
-They can rotate their head 180 degrees.
-Like most mantids, they are known to be cannibalistic.
