Anne Frank

Anne Frank (Anneliese Marie Frank) was born in Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 1929.

The young Jewish girl, her parents and older sister moved to the Netherlands from Germany, after the Nazis came to power there in 1933, and made life much more difficult for Jews.

Otto Frank moved to Amsterdam, where he established a small but successful company by the fall of 1933.

Anne Frank (above) also kept a diary (left) filled with the struggles and obstacles of a life in hiding.
