Islam is the second largest Religion with over 1 billion followers.

~ Islam started with Abraham, they believe it has always existed.
~ Followers of Islam are called Muslims
~ They believe that God sent a number of prophets to mankind to teach them how to live according to his laws.
~ Islam means submission to the will of God
~ Muslims believe there is one God who is called Allah
~ Muslims worship in a building called a Mosque
~ Their book is the Qur'an and Sunnah
~ Their sacred rules are the Pillars of Islam
~ If you did good on Earth you would go to paradise, If you did bad you would go to Hell.
~ Muslim leaders are called Sheikh's and Imam's

Divisions:

~ Sunni: Believed that Abu Bakr should succeed Muhammad
~ Shi'a: Followers of Mahammads son in law and cousin Ali

Festivals:

~ Ramadon: is the month of fasting (daytime)
~ Eid al-Fitr: celebrates end of fasting
