These capulli shared land, schools, etc. and took orders from the king
The king lived a fancy lifestyle and was in charge of law, trade, and tribute
Priest also held influence by keeping calendars and performing religious ceremonies
Warriors fought in battles and for human sacrifice
Merchants and artisans were middle class who made and sold gold jewelry and headresses in and around Tenochtitlan
Farmers grew maize and beans and often struggled to survive for they had to pay so much tribute
Slaves were captured in battle and were often sold to nobles or laborers
