Jayhawks

The term Jayhawk is a term referring to the anti-slavery forces inside Kansas. They were a group of guerrilla fighters who weren't very organized as a militia just a loose band of people fighting for their beliefs. Occasionally someone like john Brown would come along and band a few men together for an organized raid on some proslavery instituitions.
