Border Ruffians

Border Ruffians is a term that refers to Missourians who illegally flooded the Kansas border and fought violently towards their beliefs and support if slavery. They got the name name because they literally came over the border and roughed up anybody who stood in their way in the support of slavery. One of the most famous border ruffians was William Quantrill.
