End results

The end results is that over a period of 4 years many were effected by the skirmishes for a decision. After many recounts and remotes due to illegal votes Kansas became a free state in 1861. This upset the balance and eventually 5 years later led to the civil war. Bleeding Kansas is where many great Civil War Leaders from both sides got their start in war. It costs many people their lives in support of their beliefs. In an indirect way but also a direct way Kansas was the reason for the bloodiest war in our nations history, the civil war.
