“Snowball declared that the Seven Commandments could in effect be reduced to a single maxim, namely: ‘Four legs good, two legs bad.’ This, he said, contained the essential principle of Animalism.”

SLOGANS

Animal Farm is a book about governments and their faults. This line shows how governments and people change messages as their agenda changes, not the truth. When the pigs could walk on four legs, four legged animals were better. When the pigs learned to walk on two feet, two feet became better. This serves to show that the message is not animals are good and humans are bad, but to show that pigs are better. The pigs have become just like the people they are replacing. It is no different than in our government today. The news we read is the result of someone spreading propaganda.
