1. Internal Improvements

During his presidency Adams worked on transforming America through a series of "internal improvements". He created a high tariff to support road-building and a national bank.

2. Foreign Policies

Adams strongly advised against getting involved in European affairs and was able to achieve very little long-term damage from foreign affairs.

3. Congress

Adams received a great amount of opposition from Congress which meant that many of his proposals were not made official
