Virgin Lightening and Toning Application (Double Process)

When a guest desires a very light blonde color or more than five levels of lift, lightening and toning is required. This is a double process blonde service: first, the lightener is applied and then, after shampooing, the toner is applied.

Section the hair into four quadrants (center to nape, headband).

Apply aroma free oil around guests hairline.

Formula 1: midlengths and ends, scalp area lightening formula.

Formula 2: scalp area, midlengthsand ends custom toning formula.

-Start in the back right quadrant taking 1/4" diagonal subsections, applying formula 1(avoiding scalp area) working from mid lengths to ends (thoroughly saturate)

-working upward pivot hair towards ear(vertical)

-Repeat this process on bottom left, top right and top left quadrant

-do a strand test referencing NRP chart, check for sufficient lightening (if not ready, reapply formula to strand and keep processing)

-mix new batch of formula one applying to scalp and down mid lengths and ends again (following same quadrant pattern as previous steps)

-do strand test, checking for desired NRP

-when desired shade of lightening has been achieved, gently rinse and shampoo twice (do not condition before toning!)

-when hair is towered dried, section into four quadrants and apply aroma free oil around hairline

-staring in bottom right quadrant taking diagonal subsections, apply formula 2 to scalp area (working up all quadrants)

-Apply formula 2 to mid lengths and ends thoroughly saturating

-perform strand test to check processing time (can take 1-30 min)
