Density-What percentage of hair has highlights

Light Density- 30% or less of the hair in each section is highlighted in foil and partings are 1/2" apart

Medium Density- 50% of the hair in each section is highlighted and partings are 1/4" to 1/2" apart

Heavy Density- 70% of the hair in each section is highlighted in foil and partings are 1/8" to 1/4" apart

Effect - What result you want (picture)

Weaving- most blended effect (fine, medium, and strong)

Fine- 10 to 12 weaves per section

Medium- 6 to 8 weaves per section

Strong- 2 yo 3 weaves per section

Slicing- stronger/bold effect

Fine- taking a fine slice of hair to be foiled 

Medium- taking 2 back-to-back slices in a row before leaving hair out in between foils

Strong- taking 3 back-to-back slices in a row before leaving hair out in between the foils
