Discovering The Red Cross...

In 1869 she travelled to Geneva, Switzerland where she saw the European Red Cross. She learnt about it. She then returned to America and campaigned for an American Red Cross. She led the Red Cross for 23 years.

"I MAY BE COMPELLED TO FACE DANGER, BUT NEVER FEAR IT, AND WHILE OUR SOLDIERS CAN STAND AND FIGHT, I CAN STAND AND FEED AND NURSE THEM."

-Clara Barton
