Nuclear Membrane
- made of two membranes: an inner membrane and an outer membrane that are each made up of two layers of phospholipids (phospholipid bilayer)
- the two layers of the membrane are seperated by peri nuclear space
- the structure of the cell membrane also is a factor in their function
- the membrane protects the DNA inside the nucleus from the substances that surround it in the cytoplasm
- controls what things enter and exit the nucleus
- the membrane also controls what comes in and what goes out of the nucleus
