What do you learn about the role of women in Ancient Greece?

I learnt that the women in Greece weren't though of as the strong individuals. Women were often mistreated and though of as lower division. Although they didn't receive much respect, they were humble in spirit. They were commonly housewives, and hey generally had a shuttle attitude in life.
