Describe what Nic's life would have been like if he had not met Gellius or Tiso?

Nic was influenced heavily by Gellius. Gellius gave Nic a new perspective on life. Gellius' confidence rubbed off on Nic, making it easier for Nic to make a prediction of what was to come. If Nic did not meet Tiso, he would have been abused, starving, and even dead. If Tiso didn't kill Scopas, Nic would have been choked to death. Nic would be hungry if Tiso didn't provide him with extra rations, and Nic wouldn't have learnt new life skills and adventourous charisma, if Tiso didn't decide to run away, and share his knowledge.
