After the attacks of 911, there were many changes in what the government could do, that was once apart of our rights. The surveillance of people is now mostly through web and cellphone monitoring. Classified documents were leaked from a former government contractor that there would be a massive expansion of surveillance that could possibly affect millions of Americans, his name is Edword Snowden. This growth is worth 52.6 billion dollars as of 2013, and is made up of 16 different spy agencies, and 107,000 employees that now make up the U.S. Intelligence community. The National Security Agency has gathered about 56,000 emails and other pieces of communication between Americans. This is just from this agency, not counting the others that could have information.
