Evaluation

In my opinion, I believe the message Ishmael wants to carry with us is be thankful for what you have and appreciate the good things in life while you have it. I also believe he wants to walk away with the knowledge of his hardships and that he had to kill many citizens just to save his own life. He wants us to see his regret and feelings about his actions.
