Connection

The connection the both song and the scene share is loss. In this story the gang loses Johnny, mentally harming Dally and Ponyboy. dally is me tally hurt when Johnny dies because he always loved Johnny as a brother. Ponyboy is silent and dying on the inside because his best friend just lost his life and that's not easy for anyone especially 14 year old who dreams big. The song applies to having someone close to you gone, but you know they will forever be in your heart, as the song says"and the love never get lost."
