Shell Shock

Shell shock is probably the most well known disease that emerged during WWI. Shell shock is a mental disease caused by war experiences and sounds.. These sounds and experiences eventually cause the soldier to become mentally insane. This mental disease made it impossible for soldiers to follow orders. Some were taken to hospitals for treatment and others were forced to continue fighting.
