Preparing the home for sale

Q: What advice do you have about the current condition of the home? For example, do we need to re-carpet or paint?

A: I think that the green bedroom in the basement should be painted off-white to neutralize it (and matching if possible the other rooms in the lower level). You have a lot of pictures and memorabilia on the walls that is distracting in photos. We need to really edit this and you may need to touch up nail holes. Personally, I would paint out the oak hand rails and rods on your staircase to match the trim (creamy white) color, I think they look a bit dated. Your carpet looked a bit worn to me, but it might have just been dirty in spots. We can take a closer look, but I think if you are willing to re-carpet I would suggest Carpet Liquidators. They are quick and well-priced. I have a particular carpet that I like called “Instinctive” in the color Naturelle that they sell for $2.49/square foot. New carpet looks and smells great. These two things would big a big update for your home and I would highly recommend doing them.

When I look at your home from the front side, there is one big shrub I think should either get a haircut or go as it blocks the view of your home and is the only big tall shrub (tree) there. Again, highly recommend if doable.
