During the romantic periodd many authors, poets and writers were born and are still enjoyed today. From the famous Coolridge and Woodsworth poems to the Bronte sisters, romantic writers focused on idealism, emotion and feelings. Lord Byron, born George Gordon Byron, was one of the writers of the romantic period that was known for his poetry and playwrights. Biography.com states, “Lord Byron was one of the leading figures of the Romantic Movement in early 19th century England. The notoriety of his sexual escapades is surpassed only by the beauty and brilliance of his writings” (biography.com).


George Gordon Byron grew up with a deformed foot, a father who left him at a young age, a nurse that abused him and lived with a schizophrenic mother. His title changed to Lord Byron with the death of a great uncle. Lord Byron was a lady’s man and had many love affairs and produced a couple of children from the many affairs. He was young, reckless and always in love. His life also describes his writings, “Hills of Annesley" and "The Adieu” (biography.com). Lord Byron is a renowned writer of the romantic period and “after leading an unconventional lifestyle and producing a massive amount of emotion-stirring literary works, Byron died at a young age in Greece pursuing romantic adventures of heroism” (biography.com).
