Edward leaves Europe on November 24th, 1941, back to New York. At a celebration dinner in Waldorf-Astoria (held by William Paley), on December 2nd, Archibald MacLeish spoke a speech in appreciation for Edward that resulted in a standing ovation.

Edward reported what the nazis' "final solution" was in a powerful segment on December 13th, 1942.
