The difference
The difference in style
The main difference berween Francis Bacon's style and Raphael's style is that Raphael mostly painted detailed and realistic portraits while Francis Bacon mostly painted abstract figures. Francis bacon is also known for painting portraits without a background contrary to many of of Raphaelo's portraits. The amazing thing about Rafael's portraits is that the detailed realism is so good that you imagine the person is actually real (most rennaissance style), while Bacon uses a misleading abstract style which is very vague yet you can still recognize the person he is painting.
