3. Tens of millions were underinsured, which means they had inadequate insurance coverage that can lead to further economic loss to the policy holder.

4. 50 million Americans had no insurance at all.

Deny coverage to children with a preexisting condition like asthma, diabetes, or born with a heart defect.


They could put a lifetime cap on how much they will pay for if you get sick.


They could cancel your coverage when you get sick by finding a mistake in your paperwork.
