stage theory of cognitive development

Definition:the process of acquiring intelligence and increasingly advanced thought and problem so living ability from infancy to adulthood.

1.) sensorimotor stage(0-2 years old)
-a baby is able to build up direct knowledge of the world around them. They learn about themselves through their developing sensory and motor activity.

My parents said that I would stare at myself in the mirror and that I would look really amazed. I would touch my lip and my eyes trying to figure out what those things were.

At this age I had a little stuffed animal that I would take everywhere with me. The stuffed animal helped me with my cognitive development.
