Causes of the Cold War
In WW2 the Soviet Union was being attacked constantly. Nearly 20 million citizens were killed by the end of the war. Stalin blamed these deaths on the Americans and British because they didn't intervene in France earlier.
At the end of WW2 when Germany was being broken into four zones between U.S.,Great Britian, France, and Soviet Union. Government for Germany would be chosen by the county in control of the zone. The Soviet Union elected a communist puppet. The government that was helped by the Red Army and Stalin wanted to create a buffer zone along Russia to keep invasions from getting to the main land.
Another cause was the United States refused to recognize the Soviet Union government after the Bolsheviks came into power.
