Nuclear Threats

Nuclear warfare almost occurred during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Tensions high because of the sheer devistation caused by atomic bombs. The U.S. encourage the Arms Race and Cold War started the space race.

The Russians launched a R7 ballistic missile into earths orbit. Caused lots of fear with this ability to have missiles in U.S. air space.

U.S. President Harry Truman said the U.S. would build a super bomb because of the Russians testing their atomic bomb in 1949.
