Career and Inventions

Upon Howe's return to England he finds that while he was away in England the sewing machine took off and became a very popular machine

However a man named Isaac Singer was selling the machine under his name. The machine was a replica of Howe's patented machine but he was not getting the credit for it.

Howe takes Singer and his partner Walter Hunt to court to defend his patent in a case that lasted 5 years from 1849-1854.

Howe wins the court case against Isaac Singer and Walter Hunt and earns a royalty on every machine sold.
