In 1907 once Cavell's nursing training was complete she was invited back to Brussels to care for a sick child.

Even though Miss Cavell's instructor Eva Lückes didn't recognize her talent, many others did.

By 1912, Edith was busy managing one nursing school, three hospitals, three private nursing homes, 24 communal schools for nurses, thirteen private kindergartens, private duty cases, a clinic and was giving four lectures a week to doctors and nurses.

An Eventful Career

She was invited to be the Matron of the first nursing school in Belgium .

During this time it was often frowned upon having women in the workforce.However Edith Cavell excelled in every job she received.
