TRAGEDY

Themes are serious and tragic (good vs evil).

Characters are usually noblemen, princes or kings.

They are tragic heroes, whose common feature is having a tragic flaw (pride, ambition, jealousy, indecisiveness) that will lead them to their downfall.

Plots are quite simple. They can usually be divided into 5 parts: exposition, rising action, climax (increasingly positive development), falling action and catastrophe (usually the hero's death)

Language is higher, more elevated, more solemn, with abundance of figures of speech and monologues.
