Taking karma into your own hands/ revenge isn't a good solution

The first theme is developed when throughout the story you understand through flashbacks that Larry wasn't a good husband and that Sarah was really fake and only did things to benefit herself. In the end what those characters did to benefit themselves actually had quite the downfall.

The second theme is developed more towards the middle to end of the story when Linda starts to feel regretful and shamed for what she's done despite the encouragement the society gives her. It in a way is saying how life is fragile and even though Larry wasn't good to Linda she still couldn't make the second shot or look at the mess she'd made.in the end she sits and cries about the day's events as well.
